Privacy note
What we do with the details you give us on this site, in plain English.
Who we are
Dunn is a trading name of Nerd Cow Ltd, company number 09553265. We decide what happens to the details you give us on this site. Questions about any of it go to [email protected].
What we collect
- If you ask about a website: your business name, what you do, the plan you are thinking about, your name, phone, email, postcode, your message and the page you sent it from.
- If you sign up: your business name, what you do, your plan, your name, email and mobile, plus what goes on your invoices: your legal name, billing address and VAT number.
- When you pay: your bank or card details go straight to Stripe. We never see them.
- Your IP address, the number that identifies your connection, whenever you send either form. We keep it with your enquiry or sign-up as part of the record. A scrambled copy is kept for a day to stop anyone flooding the forms.
- When you email us: your email address and what you write.
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics that track you. Stripe’s payment page sets its own cookies to keep payments safe.
Why we use it
- To reply to you, set you up and run your site. The law lets us because it is needed for our contract with you, or for the steps you asked for before one. If the contract is with your company, it is in our legitimate interest to deal with the person who asked.
- For invoices and tax records, because the law says we must keep them.
- To keep the forms safe and keep a record of what you agreed to (the time, your IP address and the version of the terms). That is in our legitimate interest, so we can stop abuse and show what was agreed.
- One reminder if you start signing up and do not finish. About a day later we send one email to check everything is OK. That is the only one. If you do not want it, tell us at any time, or reply to it, and we will not email you again.
We do not sell your details, share them with anyone else, or add you to a mailing list.
Who else handles it
Only these suppliers, each working for us under a contract:
- Cloudflare hosts this site, checks a real person sent each form, and keeps our copy of every enquiry and sign-up.
- Resend sends our emails to you.
- Stripe takes your payments and keeps your billing details, your bank or card details, and the record of you agreeing to our terms. Stripe also uses some of this for its own fraud checks, under its own privacy policy.
- Google runs our inbox. Every enquiry and sign-up is emailed to it, and so is anything you send us. Our fonts load from Google too, so Google sees your IP address when a page opens.
- Anthropic and OpenAI read the emails you send us and help us draft our replies.
- Once you are a client, your change requests are kept in Basecamp, and the servers that handle them are run by OVH.
Some of these are based in the US. Where your details leave the UK, they are covered by the safeguards UK law approves.
How long we keep it
- If you do not become a client: 12 months from when you sent it. Then we delete it.
- If you become a client: for as long as you are with us, then 6 years after you leave, because that is how long the law expects us to keep invoices and the record of what we agreed. Then we delete it.
- The scrambled IP address used to stop form flooding: one day.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, ask us to stop using it or to limit what we do with it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Email [email protected]. It is free, and we reply within a month. If you ask us to delete it, we keep only what the law makes us keep, such as invoices.
Not happy with how we handled it?
Tell us first and we will put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
If you are a client
Your customers’ details, such as the enquiries sent through your site, are yours. How we handle them for you is in the schedule at the end of our terms.
